We arrived safely after a long flight to Paris and a short flight to Toulouse, where we rented a car and drove to the village of Viscos, our base for the next week in the Pyrenees. Unfortunately the fine folks at Air France decided that I did not need my bike on a cycling vacation, so it didn't join us on the flight to Toulouse (they say it will arrive soon, but we'll see). So I rented a bike today -- it's decent but not MY bike -- and am hoping my bike arrives tomorrow.
The good news is that our rental house is adorable and the setting is quintessentially French -- we're in a tiny village up on the side of a steep valley, right next to the village church with it's quaint chimes. I'll post photos shortly, along with info about today's adventure on the bike.
Au revoir for now. It's 9:30 pm and we're off to dinner!
Planes, Trains and automobiles . . . but no bike!
