Day 8: Lac d'Annecy and Ugine

Posted on: July 8th, 2013
Our last day of cycling in France - and our first easy day. Today we did our last ride in France, a relatively easy loop around the lake mostly on a bike path, with the addition of another 10 miles on a bike path to Ugine, a town we stopped in two days ago.

The bike path to Ugine was relatively flat and quite nice, particularly through a forested section. Here's a picture of Bryan and JO in that section as they rode in front of me.

In Ugine we had a fabulous plat du jour special at Auberge des Fountain of a delcious salad, a main dish of pork, pasta and vegetables, and an apple tart for desert. It was quite good and far less expensive than any meal in Annecy.

After returning to Annecy we stopped to take a few last pictures of the canal and park right next to our apartment.

In total we rode 7 of 8 days for a total of 403 miles and 47,500 vertical feet of climbing - and in the process rode some of the most famous mountains in France. Definitely an exhausting but amazing trip! More pictures to follow after tomorrow's long flight home.

Au revoir for now.
