Day 3: Unscheduled Rest Day

After 8 1/2 hours in the saddle yesterday we took today off (it rained much of the day here, so we took that as a sign from above). So we took the opportunity to watch the Tour de France and review the pictures and video from Bryan's GoPro camera, a small videocamera mounted on his bike handlebars that automatically snapped a photo every 60 seconds.

Here's a sample of those pictures: the first two are on the Col du Glandon descent, and the second two are on the Col du Galibier descent. That's me ahead of Brian in the middle two pictures traveling at upwards of 50 mph.

And if we can figure out a way to reduce the video file sizes I'll share those - they're amazing!

Will you be on L'Alpe for the double ascent of TdF? Hi Matt. No, I will be back in the states watching it on TV like you. :-) But it will be incredible for those on L'Alpe to see them twice.
